The Business Debtline offers a free, independent and confidential telephone helpline and online service for businesses seeking debt and money advice

It is aimed at small businesses and provides separate services for England/ Wales and Scotland. It is not available in Northern Ireland.

Advice seekers can:

Download an information pack on how to deal with their debt problems
Use an interactive budget tool for business and household budgets to work out what repayments they can afford and create a cashflow forecast
Use a suite of sample letters for correspondence with their creditors
Access information that may assist in dealing with their debt
Access a library of fact sheets
Find information on whether their debt can be tackled by a Debt Management Plan (DMP)
Establish whether or not they qualify for a Debt Relief Order
Get advice on ways to increase their income
Check a news ticker on updates relevant to debt issues
Find online advice on how to prepare for a phone call to the Debtline

The Business Debtline is a charity and part of the Money Advice Trust (MAT), founded in 1991.

It works in partnership with the UK Government and leading money advice agencies as well as the private sector.

All BDL advisers are trained to ensure a high standard of service.

MAT also oversees the National Debtline for private individuals seeking money and debt advice.
