An unemployed bricklayer who targeted a number of shops in Levenshulme has been jailed for 32 months after pleading guilty to six counts of burglary, carried out in July and August last year. He will be subject to an exclusion order, banning him from the Stockport Road area between 6pm-8am, on his release.
Damian O’Reilly, neighbourhood inspector for Gorton and Levenshulme, said: “Patterson was a persistent and major problem within this community who caused untold upset to local shopkeepers who were just trying to earn an honest living.
“Taking him off the streets is a great result for the people of Levenshulme and I’m glad to see the courts have handed him a strong sentence.”
He broke into one shop on Stockport Road by removing part of a side wall and then returned the next day and offered to fix the hole.
